Commentary In Favor Of Books The Gifted (The Daegmon War #1)

The Daegmon War is a three-- volume fantasy novel beginning with The Gifted , continuing with The Betrayed , and ending with The Mountain . The centuries-- old war against the Daegmon Lord has been dormant for generations and knowledge of the Gifts (powers of healing, of supernatural knowledge, and of strength over demonic foes) has faded into dim folklore.

When one of the Daegmons suddenly returns to wage war against the All-- Maker and his people, only one small band, led by a young Westwash woman named Elynna and an Andani hunter--guide, rises up against the terrible foe. But they are few, and only a handful of them number among the Gifted. When their own king and his armies turn against the them, all seems lost for the company. Only Thimeon’s faith in the All-- Maker and in the Holy Mountain sustains the faithfulfew.

Criticize Out Of Books The Gifted (The Daegmon War #1)

It took me quite long but I finally read it.I'll start by saying that I had long consisted not so much go into a book. And although the story is fantastic, the author tends to be extremely detailed and descriptive. Which is good, but not in excess. Now, one of the aspects that I liked about the story was how well the world is detailed, Matthew Dickerson truly is a master when it refers to the world building . The plot is fascinating, rarely declines and there are always things happening which

I finally made the time to read The Gifted and there's honestly nothing I regret about reading it. Matthew has a striking talent for creating an epic fantasy that's extremely well detailed and well thought out, with overly amazing well rounded characters! The plot blew me away! There was so much that went on in so little time it made me adrenalized and disoriented all in the best of ways. At the very beginning of The Gifted, it felt slow and prolonged. But after you adapt to the world, it

The gifted is a high fantasy book about a small group of people (Some of which has gifts of special powers) who rise up against the Daegmon. The story revolves around Elynna, the leader of this small group, and Thimeon, the Hunter, while going through the trials of defeating the Daegmon. Dickerson really brought the characters to life in this book. I really enjoyed the band of characters that he created and the fact that the characters felt very real. They weren't perfectly created like most

I loved it! The story was engaging. The characters were well developed and the gifts were very creative. I had a hard time liking the heroine but perhaps that will change in the following books. All in all, though, a great story very well told.

It's not a surprise to me, given Matthew's love of traditional fantasy stories from Tolkein and C.S. Lewis, that he would write an epic high fantasy that could stand up proudly next to those classics. The tale has it all -- high stakes, an impossible adventure and characters whose motivation you understand from page one. What did surprise me was how well Matthew wrote the female lead character, Elynna. She is as strong and determined as the best of YA heroines --a Katniss battling against
