The Witch of Salt and Storm (Salt & Storm #1)
The one magical remnant left to Avery is the ability to read dreams, and one night she foresees her own murder. Time is running short, both for her and for the people of her island who need the witches' help to thrive.
Avery has never read a dream that hasn't come true, but a tattooed harpoon boy named Tane tells her he can help her change her fate. Becoming a witch may prevent her murder and save her island from ruin, but Avery discovers it will also require a sacrifice she never expected. And as she falls in love with Tane, she learns it is his life and hers that hang in the balance.
A sweeping romance with a spellbinding twist - from a talented new voice in YA fiction.

Your writing is very beautiful and I do love the setting, but the main character's hatred toward her own mother is a little too much for me to handle. I'm guessing she just wants to protect her, but she's a teenager and doesn't see that. Also, she fell for him rather quickly, I can't do instant love at the moment. Also, I wanted to see more magic happening, but that

This is the first standalone fantasy that Ive read in a while, and boy has it impressed me. Kulper, youve got me as a fan as long as you keep writing as you do.I dont care for whales. Im not heartless, but Im not willing to hug a tree either. Im in middle ground. I believe in progression, to an extent, and I certainly do not believe in regression. I had no preconceived ideas before I received this book. When I did do a quick background check, read the synopsis, I chanced upon this common theme
I was kind of disappointed with this story, but at the same time I have to admit that it was original and the fact that it didn't go the way I thought it would was interesting. I'm only disappointed because it didn't have the traditional happy ending but it's still cool to see an author explore a different type of ending.
