I knew it! Gah! This is so good and it is actually starting to make some sense.Reread: just as interesting as the first time. I loved seeing more of Gilbert. That fight was really intense. And Break intrigues me to no end.The second volume of Pandora Hearts continues the story of the first one, following Oz Vessalius and Alice, along with representatives of the organization Pandora, in their quest to find Alice's memories. Among these representatives are Break, an eccentric fellow who seems to know more than he's telling, Sharon, a young girl who's not what she appears, and Raven, a dark and mysterious man who wields a gun. Together, Raven takes Oz and Alice on a mission, where the two learn about Illegal
Oz and Alice begin working for Pandora, alongside the mysterious Rave to find Alices memories. Theres more to their mission and Breaks objectives than on the surface, which readers catch a glimpse of during the trios encounter with their first Chain and illegal contractor. This is followed by a return to the Vesalius estate where the Baskervilles, Ozs mysterious foes which sent him to the Abyss are waiting for them. The results are a reunion with an old enemy and one of Ravens secrets being
*SPOILER ALERTS* This one was pretty good. I had already guessed that he had come back in the future because Raven looked too much like Gil. Then seeing the condition of the manor sealed the deal. I love the artistic quality of all the chains in this series!
The second volume of Pandora Hearts blows the first one completely out of the water. Volume two has a lot more substance and darkness than volume one. I enjoyed this one a lot.Again, the characters are marvelous, amazing, great, fantastic, hilarious.I think you get the point. This volume focuses on the characters Raven, Oz, and Alice which is very awesome as they are hilarious together. Raven does not like Alice and Alice does not like Raven and they fight and Oz kind of just smiles all
One of the best manga series, it fills you with every emotion. One minute you're laughing, the next you're crying. Can be a real tear jerker. There is violence, so I do not recommend it for young minds, and there are some things about the author's view on life which I disagree with based on my own personal beliefs. But even so, the story is very well told and one of the few that keep you waiting for the next book to come out. There are so many mysteries to be solved, it keeps you on your toes.
This volume felt slower to me. Oz, Alice, and Raven all take a trip to the Vessalius mansion where everything started, but most of the dialogue and events still felt like exposition to me...like it was setting up for future volumes. I did appreciate how the slower pace allowed me to understand the backstory of Raven more, but I'm definitely interested to see where the story goes from here.
