Shadows on the Hudson
I read the first two of this trilogy. Having read many a book about the Holocaust it was intriguing to follow up on the lives of the Jews who survived the Holocaust as they attempted to live a new life in the US, a vastly different world. These are the same folks who populated Philip Roth's American Pastoral and their characters--their flaws, their strengths, their vulnerabilities- laid before the reader.
I want to be in a book club and discuss this book, bc there are so many underlying themes to discuss!!! amazing book
Absolutely fantastic..... Home sick and want to keep reading but no book in my queue could follow Shadows on the Hudson....
I will treasure this book forever and ever. The beginning of the novel focuses on a love story between two married people. They are passionate and willing to risk it all to be together. Loved it. So glad to go back and start reading this authors book.He is so profound. His spiritual tribulations with his characters caught up in their vices and search for meaning are wonderful. Very meaningful with this holocaust population who live daily with their trauma.I read the first two of this trilogy.
