Chronicle During Books Revenge of the Homecoming Queen (Aspen Brooks #1)

All that matters is what's inside...as long as there's a tiara on the outside.

The flawless Aspen Brooks was born to be Homecoming Queen. Naturally she's dating the most popular guy in school, and she's blessed with stunning good looks, excellent style, and mega brains. She's got the crown in the bag.

So why is the tiara being placed on the skanky head of cheerleader Angel Ives? The confusion only grows after ultra-dork Rand Bachrach is crowned king. To Aspen's shock and horror, Angel actually accuses her of being behind this. Whatevs!

But then something goes terribly, terribly wrong. Strange things start happening--even stranger than Angel beating Aspen. Now someone's leaving her threatening messages and slashing her tires. She's sure it's that beyotch Angel doing these things. And if Angel wants war, by Dooney & Bourke she'll get one.

Assess Appertaining To Books Revenge of the Homecoming Queen (Aspen Brooks #1)
This was a freebie read from Amazon, from some point in the past several months. The cover, that blue lipstick crown, has zilch to do with the theme of the story. It's about good girl Aspen, who strives to be Homecoming Queen and is in the process of growing out of her teenage selfishness and materialism. When the crowns are upset, one going to her top rival and the other to a nerdy boy, Aspen starts to realize more things. That she likes nerdy boy, and he makes her learn a hard lesson: that

I read only about 50 pages of this book. There were so many swear words in it, including the f word, that I had to put it down. For youth fiction, it had way too much swearing for me.

Revenge of the Homecoming Queen by Stephanie Hale(Book #1: Aspen Brooks Trilogy)Source: PurchaseRating: 4/5 starsIs there anything worse than losing the run for Homecoming Queen? YES!! Losing the race to the biggest skank in school and then having to endure said skank spreading a rumor that you wear knockoffs. Holy Hell!! Can it get any worse? Absolutely For Aspen Brooks, the title and the crown for Homecoming Queen were supposed to be a lock: Aspen is beautiful, quite stylish (Dooney and Jimmy

Aspen Brooks is positive she will win homecoming queen. She's the prettiest, most popular girl at school and clearly the most fashionably dressed. So imagine her surprise when the crown goes to her nemesis Angel Ives. Although the blow to her enormous ego is weakened when super geek Rand Bachrach is crowned homecoming prince instead of Aspen's hottie boyfriend, Lucas, she is still humiliated. Add insult to injury, Rand keeps hanging around her, threatening to ruin her image while Lucas is caught

Not an awful read, but the characters annoyed me quite a bit.

Finally, A Homecoming Queen I Could LoveOne of the main reasons I enjoyed this book so much, I think, is that I didn't have to work too hard or wait too long to like and get a kick out of the heroine, Aspen. So often with books like this it takes forever for the heroine to have the epiphany that helps bring her around to tolerable range, but here you knew right off the bat that Aspen was made of good stuff. That frees you up to follow the mystery and to enjoy Aspen's little mini-dramas. It helps

Full review also posted here on TotalTeenFictionI got this book as free download from the Kindle store, and there were a few things that drew me to it. Firstly the title sounded like exactly what I was looking for (contemporary - woo!) and I really liked the cover. Revenge of the Homecoming Queen tells the story of Aspen Brooks who gets beaten to the post of queen by her nemesis Angel. Only the contest didn't go as planned with geeky Rand getting the role of king. Soon the school is in chaos and
