Description As Books Neon Genesis Evangelion, Vol. 3 (新世紀エヴァンゲリオン / Neon Genesis Evangelion #3)
Shinji Ikari returns to Nerve to pilot his Evangelion. But what is the mystery behind Rei Ayanami, the other Eva pilot?Volume 3 was so much better than volume 2. Shinji wasn't nearly as mopey this time and the focus shifted to the mystery behind Rei. There wasn't a huge amount of action but the action was more intense than the previous volume. There are a lot of character moments in this book and more than enough mystery left for me to want to continue.
The expansion of the supporting cast gives the book a lot more depth than it originally had. I don't know if I'm on board for the whole series but I will definitely read another volume or two. Four out of five stars.

Well, again, what can I really say about this manga? Nothing in here was anything I didn't already completely know about from the Rebuild movies and spoilers from my ex boyfriend. Yet, even though I already knew all of this, somehow, the manga is still really fun to read to pass time. Maybe it's because I miss Evangelion and the time in which I watched the movies, or maybe it's because they're just so well done and the manga takes a slightly different approach to the same story. All in all, INuovo scontro con gli angeli, mentre Shinji e Rei si conoscono e imparano i dettagli che gli uniscono, in primis una scarsa confidenza nella vita, e una fiducia in ben poche cose.
Wey, amo a Rei. That's the review.
The Rei's oversexualization bothered me quite a lot, but, otherwise, this series continues picking up pace and I'm excited to see where it goes.
*hugs Rei* *hugs Shinji* They feel like the loneliest people on the planet with not much hope of this ever changing. :(Also, Shinjis father is an asshole. -.-The fight itself was okay even though some things made me roll my eyes a bit.
Shinji's organic transformation as a character is great to follow along with, especially in terms of how it intersects with Rei (who finally gets decent page time). There are still a lot of mysteries in this series -- mostly concerning the Angels -- but I'm on for the ride.
