There can be slight references to these if the reader is familiar with the refered movie or story. Anyway, the story is full of humor and bickering between the two characters and their fun and thrilling way of buliding a relationship. Why thrilling? Well their constant bicking and slight bi-polareness makes one wonder, "How are they gonna be a couple? Are they gonna last?" Etc. Things like that. If you want to know how their life will be, I suggest you pick this book in one of your local bookstores.
