I stopped reading every single Danielle Steel novel about a decade ago, save for a couple in recent years. I just got tired of the same old formulaic writing that enables her to crank out multiple novels every single year. For the most part, a reader can guess before even cracking open the binding for the first time how the plot is going to play out.However, this particular Steel novel was much better due to its historical aspect. I enjoyed how she weaved history into this tale, and the story ofI have never read a Danielle Steel book before and I will probably never read another. It was one of my book club reads and was highly recommended as a book I could "devour" in one or two days. According to the jacket write-up, it should have been interesting. What starts out as a great premise for a book turns out to be boring, lacking in descriptive detail, and repetitive. It was as if we had to keep being reminded, chapter after chapter, about the same information from earlier in the book; as

This is a great "quick summer read" . The plot is intriguing and interesting but I think the characters could have been more explored and not so superficial. But overall, i liked some parts of the book and that's why I decided to give it 4 stars, when ,objectively, it's maybe 3/ 3.5. But again, considering that it is summer read and a page-turner, I generously gave it 4 stars.
Say this was my 3rd book and last book of Danielle Steel!...Yes indeed...I really disliked this book from my heart you know. 1st when seen the cover I felt like well maybe it gonna be a great experience to read it. But I was wrong - so terribly wrong...It was a book to show a woman to became a iconic figure. This is one of the less action-packed of her books that I've read. I feel like this book was more about the character of the characters than the events happening. It is a very good book, but we are talking Danielle Steel. I don't think she knows how to write a bad book!
A Good Woman by Danielle Steel was an enjoyable read. The main female character was strong, engaging, realistic. The plot, especially the WW1 chapters were engaging. This book, for me had more substance than many of Steel's other books. An entertaining, fast summer read.
