Relation During Books Bet in the Dark (Bet On Love #1)

All Ellie Harris wanted was a life of her own.

In a shortsighted decision, she follows her high school boyfriend to college, only to get cheated on and then dumped. And to add insult to injury, her overprotective family is suddenly clinging to her again, fighting to control every part of her life.

Bad luck follows her hasty decision and when her roommate steals her identity and leaves town, Ellie is left to clean up a gigantic mess.

Fin Hunter insists Ellie owes him seven thousand dollars from an online poker game and he won't stop until he collects it. Determined to keep her family out of her life, Ellie agrees to work for Fin in his illegal online poker operation. He's given her six weeks to pay off the debt.

Soon sparks are flying between them and the only thing keeping her from falling for him is the debt she still owes and the money she doesn't have.

At the end of those six weeks, Ellie will have to pay the mistaken debt or bet that her feelings for Fin will be worth more than the money.

Judge About Books Bet in the Dark (Bet On Love #1)
Rachel is AMAZING at writing YA love stories. That's what this book is. Amazing. It's full of sweetness, with a side of cocky, snarky, and realness. This book could absolutely happen in the real world. I LOVED Ellie. She was sweet and MORAL and normal. The only time I wanted to slap her was near the end, but of course that was the point. We were watching this play out, as the reader knowing that she wasn't right, but just knew that all would be well in short time. And the 'come back together'

I tried to connect to this one, but I could not. I picked this book up at least five times, but the characters just did not work for me. The premise sounded so good, but as I read, I found myself bored. My opinion. You may love it.

This book is so much awesome.Rachel Higginson has such a whacked out sense of humour. I loved it.The way that Fin and Ellie meet is priceless. It's definitely one of the best starts to a love story that I've ever read.Ellie's brothers are out of control to the max. They just love fighting in the name of Ellie's honour and teasing the hell out of her. I grew up with three brothers that basically existed with R ratings attached to them: strong language, violent behavior and sexual content. She goes

Ok, this is quite the diamond in the ruff. What I anticipated to be a book of mystery and intensity was actually a very sweet and magnificent love story. Fin Hunter is not dark and deadly, and Ellie is not your innocent by standard. Now I don't mean that she actually owes this money, but this girl has enough spice and sass to light a forest fire. I love both of these characters, and actually I loved all of the remaining cast as well. That is with the exception of her last boyfriend. Even though

A light and gentle romance with some lovely characters and friendships, the central relationship is sweet and fun with minimal angst.Ellie is a naïve girl, has 3 overprotective brothers and has led a sheltered life. she tends to expect the best of people even when signs suggest otherwise. Fin is supposed to be a campus playboy but seems to be a genuinely nice guy. This was a nice easy read just when I needed one.

I feel I've become soft with my ratings. Take them with caution.EditDemoted to 3 stars. I just remembered the female leads hypocrisy. Her constant selfish whining for independence and freedom as she refused to take any control. Actually she was quite frustrating in many ways.

I stopped reading at 79%. I just couldn't do it anymore. When I first started reading it, I was hooked. The plot line was great and the characters started out interesting. I overlooked the overuse of exclamation points (!!!!!!!!!!!) and carried on. But then, I got to know Ellie. She's great on the surface, but she's awful when you dig deep. She's one of those girls who constantly complains that she's not pretty, but she's harping on it so much that it becomes obvious she just wants compliments.
